SLEEP ON THE RIVER THAMES
Houseboats are like a shared home, sharing facilities like kitchen, toilets and shower. Hot water is heated by the coal burners, which also warm the boats and bedrooms, Autumn Winter and Spring. Summer, we use water warmed by the sun in black tanks. Houseboats have very large windows offering stunning London Thames river views and allowing a lot of natural light. All bedrooms have natural light.
The internal head room is normally over two metres of six foot six inches, there is plenty of storage space under the raised comfortable beds. There are outside covered seating areas. Whilst houseboats are rustic and some re-purposed materials like double glazed windows have been used we pride ourselves in cleaning daily and like to cook for others.

The best experience of staying on a boat is: tranquil night sleep, woken by bird song, variety of bird life, river views, watching the huge variety of boats going past views of grand buildings facing river, the swift access up and down river along the leafy towpath, having a cosy coal fire heat you and your cabin.

Why I choose rent houseboat ?
Having my first small plastic overnight cruising boat, i decided to get another larger boat that I could live on and work, contacting clubs and rugby players, from my mobile phone and laptop.
over the years I then got more classic Thames lighters barges that had been left surplus to requirements and fitted them out for others and I to stay on.
I take pride that these 100 year old hulls have been saved for the nation and not been scrapped.
I take pride that I provide affordable short term and long term accommodation in expensive SW London. Contact me about the duration of your proposed stay.
I also host, all months of the year, willing helpers, exchanging their help doing simple boat tasks, like cleaning, cooking, making beds, greeting guests, lighting and attending the cosy coal burners, painting, simple DIY, organising the rubbish and recycling in exchange for food and accommodation. Maybe you or maybe a friend that wants a start in SW London? Please contact me state when you would like to help.
